CatholicCare Visits St Andrew’s Marayong

Last Friday was the feast of the Sacred Heart and when many of us were thinking of our plans for the long weekend, the Students of St Andrew the Apostle School, Marayong, were thinking about families in need.

Encouraged by their teachers, the students brought food and clothing to be given to people who are ‘doing it tough’. Each class presented a sample of all that they had donated at Mass in the parish church. Staff from CatholicCare were on hand to collect the parcels and bring them to families in surrounding suburbs.

The principal, Mr Michael Tonnet, welcomed the students and the Mass was celebrated by Fr George visiting from Parramatta parish. The singing was led with great gusto by the kindergarten children!
CatholicCare is grateful to the principal, to the assistant principal, Kim McDonald, and to all the staff, students and parents for the precious donations which will help many people in our local area.

A special thank you to the parents who served morning tea after the Mass.

St Andrew’s was a great place to visit!
