Volunteers Week: Recognised for Service

Volunteers Week: Recognised for Service

Australia has a great record of volunteer service and we know that many organisations, big and small, rely on volunteers to make a difference.

Blacktown Neighbour Aid held a volunteer lunch at Kings Park Tavern.  The volunteers received a  Certificate of Appreciation and also a 2018 Volunteer Pin

One of the greatest services we can offer is companionship. Of course you don’t have to be a member of an organisation to offer that but the sad fact is that many people, particularly older people, find it hard to get around on their own or just like to have a cuppa with a companion in the shopping centre or be accompanied on an outing. They don’t know where to turn for help.

Up steps Blacktown Neighbour Aid, which aims to provide companions to keep older people in touch with the wider community.
