Blacktown Neighbour Aid – Mothers’ Day High Tea

Blacktown Neighbour Aid – Mothers’ Day High Tea

On Wednesday 2nd May, Blacktown Neighbour Aid held a Mothers’ Day High Tea for 30 of their clients.  This was held at the Hub at Bungarribee.  Our clients were treated to a selection of sandwiches, slices and scones with tea and coffee.  Many of the slices were made by one of our volunteers, Pam, the scones were made by one of our clients, Valerie and to add some international flavour we had some Indian donuts made by another of our clients, Shyam.

Each client was given a present of a soap and colourful facewasher.  A usual highlight was our raffle and this year we were fortunate to have three prizes donated by Marianne from Guardian Funerals.

Another one of our volunteers Cathy, supplied a hand massage or nail painting to the clients.

On this occasion we also celebrated 10 years of service by Lee-Anne, one of our hard working social support workers and Trish, our Acting Director of Social Services presented her with a certificate.

It was a great opportunity for many of our clients to get together, catch up with old friends and get out in the sunshine.
